Four killed and Dozen Injured in Mizoram oil tanker mishap
At least four people died and close to a dozen were injured after a tanker carrying petrol caught fire near Mizoram’s Tuirial Airfield on Saturday evening. The incident occurred at Tuirial village, about 18 kilometres east of the state capital Aizawl, at around 6 pm when the tanker was going to Champhai.
Aizawl district Superintendent of Police, C. Lalruaia said the Champhai-bound oil tanker was carrying more than 20,000 litres of petrol when it overturned at a bend on the road.
Local people including the victims immediately after the accident were trying to collect the petrol leaking from the oil tanker when the tanker caught fire.
