Fraudsters Exploit Vulnerable in Chirang, Assam
In a disturbing revelation from Assam’s Chirang district, two fraudsters have been accused of preying on physically challenged individuals under the guise of providing financial assistance. Operating in Bijni, the fraudsters targeted families with disabled members, promising them Rs. 50,000 in exchange for an upfront payment of Rs. 2,000. Shockingly, they managed to deceive 13 families in the Ulubari Bamunijhara locality alone. This isn’t their first offense, as reports suggest they have a history of such fraudulent activities. The victims, feeling helpless, have sought the intervention of the media and authorities, urging for stringent action against the perpetrators.
