Gaurav Gogoi Urges Renaming of Silchar Railway Station to Honor Language Martyrs

Assam Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has called on the state government to rename Silchar Railway Station in honor of the eleven language martyrs of the 1961 Language Movement. In a letter to PM Modi, Gogoi emphasized the significance of this tribute.

However, the Union Government clarified that the Assam government has yet to submit a formal proposal for the renaming. Gogoi urged immediate action to fulfill this long-standing demand.
