GMC Fines Unlicensed Godown Rs 1 Lakh in Enforcement Drive

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation has imposed a Rs 1 lakh fine on a godown in Ward No. 18 for operating without a valid trade licence. The action was taken during an inspection as part of GMC’s intensified enforcement drive.

Officials said running a business without proper authorisation violates municipal rules and will invite strict penalties. The civic body has warned traders to obtain and renew trade licences on time, stating it will maintain a zero-tolerance approach towards unauthorised commercial operations.
