Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority has decided not to accept cheques as payment for any reason

The Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) will no longer accept cheques for payment of any kind of fee, lease money, etc., and the public has been instructed to use electronic payment methods and demand draughts instead.

The GMDA recently issued a notice stating that it will no longer accept cheques for payment of fees, lease money, and other payments and has asked people to make such payments only through electronic means and demand draughts.
