Guwahati Municipal Corporation Launches Women-Led Initiative Poura Sakhi 2.0

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) launched Poura Sakhi 2.0, a women-led initiative aimed at bringing GMC services closer to citizens. Inaugurated by Mayor Mrigen Sarania, 78 trained Poura Sakhis will assist residents with digital services, grievance lodging, and property tax payments at their doorsteps. The initiative, which promotes convenience and empowers women-led Self Help Groups, includes training sessions to equip the Poura Sakhis with necessary skills. Deputy Mayor Smita Roy Das and other dignitaries emphasized the program’s role in fostering financial independence and “Atma Nirbharta.”
