Guwahati to host first ever IPL matches in entire North East

Guwahati is all set to host its first Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, next month when two Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) games will be played at the ACA Stadium, the Royals home ground. The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) is upbeat about hosting the first-ever IPL matches.

It was allotted two RR matches in 2020 also, but it had to be cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. RR will take on Punjab Kings on April 5 and play against Delhi Capitals on April 8.

The Royals will play their remaining home games in Jaipur. The opportunity to watch live top teams will benefit the aspiring cricketers. Along with the excitement of the IPL, cricket lovers are also hopeful that the city will get the chance to host World Cup matches for the first time later in the year.
