“Kooki,” a Hindi feature film produced in Assam, has earned the honor of being screened at the esteemed Cannes Film Festival 2024. Scheduled for May 21 at 11:30 a.m. local time at Palais H, the film’s selection marks a significant milestone for Assamese cinema. Producer Dr. Junmoni Devi Khound expressed gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting the film’s focus on critical global issues. With a cast featuring well-known personalities like Ritisha Khound and Rajesh Tailang, “Kooki” is set to release in theatres on June 28. Notably, Bollywood singers Sunidhi Chauhan, Divya Kumar, Mohammad Faiz, and Krittika Sharma from Assam have contributed to the film’s captivating soundtrack.
