Hope for People in Assam who have been declared “foreigners”: Courts, tribunals

It has been a nightmare for many who were declared foreigners by tribunals, but many of them were later successful in proving their Indian citizenship, either in court or by appealing to the Foreigners Tribunal (FT).

A Gauhati High Court bench of two justices, Lanusungkum Zamir and Budi Habung, ordered the competent authorities to investigate the entire matter and refer the case back to the Foreigners Tribunal (FT) for review.
