Illegal Coal Mining Exposed in Margherita

Following a complaint by Tinsukia resident Mintu Modi, a government delegation inspected illegal coal mining sites at Tikak and Tirap collieries under NECF, Coal India Ltd., Margherita.

The team, including officials from multiple departments, confirmed rampant illegal mining and assured action against those involved in the multi-crore coal scam. The Assam Police Director General has ordered the sealing of all illegal rat-hole mining operations within a week.
