Assam to Get Electronics City in Jagiroad

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the upcoming Electronics City in Jagiroad, focusing on semiconductor and high-tech electronics manufacturing. The OSAT unit is under construction, and an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster will support innovation and industrial growth.

The project will also include a Trade and Warehousing zone, residential townships, schools, healthcare facilities, and sports infrastructure. Sarma met Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran to discuss Tata’s investment in the semiconductor plant. He expressed optimism that chip production could begin by year-end and would reduce youth migration by creating local job opportunities.
