Jal Jeevan Mission and Directorate of Higher Education in Assam Collaborate to Educate College Students on Water Quality

The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Assam and the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Government of Assam, have formalized their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU aims to engage and educate college students on water quality, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) practices, and the functionality assessment of water supply schemes.

Signed by Mission Director Kailash Karthik N. IAS and Director of Higher Education Smti. Pomi Baruah ACS, the agreement seeks to initiate the Jal Vidya Programme under JJM Assam. College students, upon completion of training, will act as advocates for safe practices within their communities, promoting behavioral change. The collaboration encourages academic research, critical thinking, and innovation among students, fostering problem-solving and continuous improvement.
