Locals in Guwahati are dubious about GMC’s new garbage collection system

During the first phase, ten of the wards under the Guwahati Municipal Corporation’s (GMC) new garbage collection system were launched. The people of Guwahati, however, are not really sure about the new system given the state of the garbage collection and disposal systems currently in place.

Disagreements about garbage collection not being picked up every day at the appointed time have become usual in Guwahati, despite the fact that residents already pay extra for garbage collection on top of their property taxes. The irregularities still exist, despite the fact that the urban local body has frequently altered the non-governmental organisations’ garbage collection responsibilities.
