Glasgow: Assam boxer and Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain has guaranteed India its first medal at the Commonwealth Games after receiving a direct entry into the women’s 75kg boxing semifinals, ensuring at least a bronze medal.

Lovlina will face Tuvalu’s TKBP Taafaki in the semifinal on July 31, with a place in the gold medal bout at stake. The assured podium finish marks the first Commonwealth Games medal of her career, adding another milestone to her impressive international achievements.
