Man sentenced to 20 years for raping his minor niece in Arunachal

East Siang District POCSO Act special judge Tageng Padoh sentenced one Job Modi of Mariyang village to 20-year imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine u/s 6 of Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act as he was found guilty of committing aggravated penetrative sexual assault against the four-year old daughter of his cousin sister.

An FIR was lodged at Mariyang police station on 20.02.19 by victim’s mother explained Modi’s heinous act and a case u/s 376 IPC R/W and u/s 6 of POCSO Act was registered. The mother had told the police that Modi is maternal uncle of the victim and staying in her house for last 11 months.
