Nine exotic animals rescued in Assam-Mizoram border

Seven red-faced spider monkeys and two lemurs, which were smuggled from Indonesia, were rescued from Debipur locality in Dholai circle of Cachar district late on Sunday night. The area is close to the Assam-Mizoram interstate border.

A senior police official on Monday said the exotic animals were found in a cage which was abandoned at a secluded place in the village.
