‘No birth & death certificates for illegal immigrants’ in Mizoram

“In pursuance of the decision of the inter-departmental coordination committee dated October 31, 2022, it is hereby informed to all concerned that registration of the events of births and deaths of illegal immigrants who are sheltered within Mizoram should not be done even if it occurred within Mizoram,” a circular issued by the civil registration branch of the state economics and statistics department on Wednesday said.

Further, if any registration of such events has been done mistakenly in the previous years, all such registration and issued certificates are hereby cancelled and to be deleted from the birth/death register accordingly.
