Outrage in Titabor as NIA Report Omits Suspect’s Name in Jorhat Grenade Blast Case
A significant development in the Jorhat grenade blast case has sparked outrage in Titabor, as the National Investigation Agency (NIA) report did not mention Dipankar Gogoi, a suspect who was found dead under mysterious circumstances. Dipankar, 22, was detained by Jorhat Police on December 21, 2023, in connection with the December 14 grenade blast at the Lichubari Army Cantonment, allegedly carried out by the ULFA-I. His body was discovered behind his house on December 25, following four days of police interrogation. The omission of his name in the NIA report has reignited demands for action against the police officials allegedly involved in his death. The Assam government had assigned Additional Chief Secretary Kailash Chand Samria to probe the incident, but the inquiry report remains unreleased.
