Price hike introduced in public transportation in Istanbul
The Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, run by the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), on Dec. 27 increased public transportation prices by 29.1 percent.
The increase will be effective on Jan. 1, 2023.

According to the new prices, the student ticket fee in transportation will be 4.83 liras, whereas it will be 9.90 liras without any discount.
