Protests Erupt in Kokrajhar Against Proposed Adani Thermal Power Project

Locals in Bashbari, Kokrajhar, protested against the proposed Adani thermal power project, opposing the BTR government’s alleged decision to allot 3,400 bighas without consent. Tensions rose as officials attempting land demarcation were forced to retreat. Residents vowed to protect their land and rights. This marks months of ongoing protests. Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah met BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary on the issue, claiming the meeting was personal.
