Siang Dam to Offset Impact of China’s Mega Brahmaputra Project

India’s 11,000 MW Siang Upper Dam in Arunachal Pradesh will help mitigate the impact of China’s planned 60,000 MW dam on the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra), says Brahmaputra Board chairman Dr Ranbir Singh. While India isn’t conducting a direct study, the central government is actively monitoring the issue. The Siang project aims to generate power and control floods in the Brahmaputra basin.
