Tezpur University Launches Science Teachers Training Programme

Tezpur University, in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, has initiated a seven-day Science Teachers Training Programme for secondary level teachers from government schools in Assam, starting June 18. The programme aims to enhance the quality of science education and will train 1200 teachers from Nagaon, Sonitpur, Morigaon, Hojai, Udalguri, Jorhat, Golaghat, Biswanath, and Darrang in two batches.

TU faculty will lead sessions on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Communicative English, and Education Pedagogy. Vice Chancellor Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh emphasized the need for teachers to upgrade their knowledge to meet 21st-century demands. Sangita Saikia from Samagra Shiksha Assam highlighted the focus on innovative teaching methods, while Dr. Akhilesh Kumar explained that modern pedagogical techniques will be introduced to make science learning more engaging and effective.
