The Assam government plans to build a ‘Unity Mall’ in Guwahati worth over Rs 200 crore

The Assam government has decided to build a Unity Mall (Ekta Mall) in Guwahati at a cost of Rs 226 crore in order to promote national integration, carry forward the ‘Make in India’ concept, and promote the ‘One District One Product’ concept.

The decision was made during a state cabinet meeting on Tuesday evening at Guwahati’s Janata Bhawan, presided over by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Assam Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah announced the cabinet decisions, saying that the Unity Mall will be built near the Assam Trade Promotion Organisation Complex in Betkuchi, and that the state cabinet has approved Rs 226 crore for it, with 35 showrooms for all states/union territories and 35 showrooms for all 35 districts of the state.
