Union Minister Rameswar Teli Reviews Expansion of Asia’s Oldest Refinery in Digboi

Union Minister Rameswar Teli recently inspected the expansion project at the Digboi Refinery, which aims to boost its refining capacity to one million tonnes. Teli reported that the project is advancing rapidly. He emphasized the historical importance of the Digboi Refinery, the oldest in Asia, and acknowledged the significant strides made in its development. Teli attributed this progress to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The refinery expansion is part of a larger suite of development projects launched by PM Modi in Jorhat, Assam, in March. These projects, collectively valued at over Rs 17,500 crores, encompass advancements in health, oil and gas, railways, and housing sectors.
