‘Witchcraft’ suspicion led to the burning death of a woman in Assam

In the Sonitpur district of Assam, a 30-year-old woman was allegedly practicing witchcraft when she was attacked with sharp objects and burned to death, a police officer said on Monday.

In this regard, the police have made four arrests; two more people are still absconding, and a search has been conducted to locate them both, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Madhurima Das.
