World’s longest river cruise MV Ganga enters Assam
MV Ganga Vilas, a privately-operated, three-deck cruise vessel, on course to creating a world record for sailing the longest along several river systems, entered Assam from Bangladesh on Friday, 39 days after leaving Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal congratulated the people of Assam and the Northeast on this historic moment that is set to unlock huge potential of river tourism, allowing trickle down development for people across the bank of the Brahmaputra.
