YMA Urges Mizoram Govt to Formalize Refugee Shelter Plan
The Young Mizo Association (YMA) has intensified its push for the Mizoram government to establish structured shelter mechanisms for over 42,000 refugees from Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Manipur. The CYMA’s Central Coordination Committee reviewed draft proposals and urged the state to designate proper shelter zones and issue clear refugee management guidelines. Mizoram currently hosts over 33,000 Myanmarese, 7,000 from Manipur, and 2,000 from Bangladesh.
