77-year-old Mizoram man enrolled in the high school

77-year-old man from eastern Mizoram sporting a school uniform and carrying a bag full of textbooks, Lalringthara will be back to the classroom from Thursday.

On Wednesday, the resident of New Hruaikawn village in Champhai district took admission to Class 9 at RMSA High School at Hruaikawn village, about 3 km from his native place. He enrolled in the high school after completing middle school.

Lalringthara said, “I have no problem reading and writing in Mizo language. However, I want to go back to school to learn English. I want to be capable of writing an application in English and understand TV news in the language,” he said. He has read the Old Testament 14 times and the New Testament 16 times in Mizo language.
