Mamata Slams BJP Over NRC Notice to Bengal Farmer

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee condemned a Foreigners’ Tribunal notice served to a Cooch Behar farmer, calling it an attack on democracy. She accused the BJP of trying to implement NRC in Bengal without jurisdiction. The farmer, a Rajbanshi resident for over 50 years, was wrongly labelled an illegal migrant despite valid documents. BJP blamed state-level documentation lapses, but Assam BJP has not responded yet.
