BJP Faces Internal Rift in Assam Over Ticket Distribution

The Bharatiya Janata Party in Assam is facing internal dissent after denying tickets to several senior leaders for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Many leaders, including Jayanta Das and Amiya Kumar Bhuyan, have expressed anger and may contest as Independents, mainly over tickets given to former Congress entrants like Pradyut Bordoloi.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and state president Dilip Saikia are trying to calm the situation.

Despite unrest across multiple constituencies, BJP leaders say the issue will be managed, though dissatisfaction remains within the party ranks.
