CM’s Vigilance Cell Raids Assam Official’s Residence in Land Scam Probe

The Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell (SVC) raided the Guwahati residence of Pankaj Kumar Deka, Joint Secretary at the Silchar Mini Secretariat, in connection with an alleged land scam case.

According to sources, Deka came under investigation over alleged irregular transfer of xatra and temple lands to individuals during his postings in Darrang district.

The case reportedly surfaced after a land broker arrested in 2024 mentioned Deka’s name during police interrogation. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
