Foreign Cigarettes Worth ₹2.8 Crore Seized in Cachar

Cachar: The Assam Rifles and Silchar Customs Department jointly seized a consignment of smuggled foreign cigarettes worth around ₹2.8 crore during an operation in the Kalain area of Cachar district.

Officials said the contraband was being transported through commercial trucks for distribution in Meghalaya and other northeastern states. The seized goods have been handed over for legal action, and investigations are underway to dismantle the interstate smuggling network.
