Auniati Satradhikar Urges PM Modi to Visit Flood-Hit Upper Assam

Guwahati, July 28: Auniati Satra Satradhikar Dr. Pitambar Dev Goswami has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the flood-affected districts of Jorhat, Sivasagar and Charaideo, saying only a ground visit would reveal the true extent of the devastation.

Goswami urged the Centre to recognise Assam’s recurring flood and erosion crisis as a national issue, adding that the Prime Minister’s visit would boost the morale of affected families. His appeal comes amid similar demands by AASU for a comprehensive national response.

Meanwhile, the state’s flood death toll has risen to 68, with over 5.24 lakh people still affected across five districts, despite improving flood conditions.
