Karbi Film ‘Kangbo Aloti’ Wins Top Honour at Germany’s Indian Film Festival

Guwahati, July 28: Kangbo Aloti – The Lost Path, a Karbi-language feature film directed by Khanjan Kishore Nath, has won the German Star of India 2026 Award for Best Feature Film at the Indian Film Festival Stuttgart in Germany.

The jury praised the film for its powerful storytelling, cinematography and message promoting education over violence. Reacting to the honour, Nath said the award belongs to the entire team and the Karbi community, adding that it would inspire more filmmakers from Assam and the Northeast to bring regional stories to global audiences.

The film has previously earned recognition at several national and international film festivals, further highlighting the growing global presence of Karbi and Assamese cinema.
