Assam: 12 students return from Israel, recounting horrors

Students and researchers recounted the horrors of the Israel-Hamas conflict as they arrived in Assam in batches as part of the Centre’s Operation Ajay to evacuate Indians stranded in the war-torn West Asian country. However, many carers, including those from other Northeastern states, remain in the homes of the elderly.

Those who have returned recounted their ordeal, saying that since the Hamas attack began on October 7, many of them were caught off guard and spent time in bunkers, which are part of almost all homes or institutes along the borders with Gaza.
