Assam Aims to Soar: Finance Minister Unveils Vision for State’s Prosperity in Budget 2024–25

State Finance Minister Ajanta Neog announced in the Assembly that the State Budget for 2024–25 aims to position Assam among the top five states in the country. She emphasized the transparency of the budget, detailing both income sources and expenditure destinations. Neog described the budget as a vision document, outlining the government’s roadmap for the next five years. She highlighted the government’s commitment to increasing state revenue, addressing inherited issues, and involving the public in every scheme. Neog acknowledged the positive shift in fund flow between the Centre and the state, facilitating accelerated development. The finance minister also shared that Rs 1,000 crore in subsidies to self-help groups resulted in them securing loans of Rs 8,000 crore, positively impacting the rural economy and fostering self-sufficiency among women in villages.
