Two ACS Officials Suspended Amidst Land Fraud Scandal, Arrested for Counterfeit Land Records

In a recent development, two Additional Commissioner of State (ACS) officials, Lakhyajit Duwaria and Lakshya Jyoti Das, have been arrested for their involvement in fabricating land records and creating counterfeit land documents. The Personnel Department issued a notification placing both officials under suspension from the date of their arrest, which occurred on January 31, 2024. Lakhyajit Duwaria, deputy secretary in the Medical Education & Research Department, and Lakshya Jyoti Das, additional district commissioner at Rupahihat, Nagaon, face charges related to case numbers 357/2023 and 42/2024, filed at Bharalumukh and Dispur police stations, respectively.
