Dhubri Students Escape Violence in Bangladesh with Police Help
A group of students from Dhubri, Assam, escaped violence-hit areas in Bangladesh with the help of Bangladeshi police. The students, mostly medical students from Assam and West Bengal, traveled through the Darsana-Joynagar Border Road, reaching India safely on Friday evening and Dhubri on Saturday afternoon. The escape occurred on July 19, led by Bangladeshi police from Darshana to the Gede Border. Asif Hussain recounted the journey, describing how they left Bangladesh around 2 am, arrived at the Gede Border at 3:30 pm, and eventually reached Dhubri via Sealdah and Coochbehar. Hussain noted that the main unrest was in Dhaka, but the situation in Manik Ganj town had also escalated, resulting in the deaths of three local students.
