FIRs Filed Against Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad for Burning Sangha’s Constitution

Over 10 FIRs were lodged against the Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad (Taipa) at Jorhat Sadar Police Station for allegedly burning the Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha’s constitution. Hundreds of Sangha devotees protested, calling it an attack on their religious identity.

The controversy began after a Sangha member was expelled for attending a Tai Ahom festival, triggering retaliation. Sangha officials condemned the act and demanded legal action. Another FIR was also filed in Biswanath. Taipa has not yet responded to the allegations.
