In Guwahati, a Special Task Force seizes contraband drugs worth Rs 2 crore

The Special Task Force (STF) and Kamrup Police recovered huge quantities of contraband drugs worth Rs 2 crore in a joint operation at Amingaon. The team was led by STF Additional Superintendent of Police Kalyan Pathak with Kamrup police officers. The team apprehended five peddlers, two of whom were women.

According to sources, the team intercepted an Ertiga from Manipur at Amingaon and seized 250 grammes of heroin. The arrested peddlers are Abdul Rajak Shah (36), MD Yunus Khan (39), Bibi Sara (41) Jarina (25) from Manipur’s Bishnupur district, and Lila Kanta Saikia (28) from Assam’s Dhemaji district, who is currently residing at Indra Nagar near Bihutoli, Forest Office in Basistha. A case (116/23 u/s 21(C)/29 NDPS Act) has been filed in this regard with the North Guwahati Police Station.
