Professor couple murder case in Bihar’s Ara held in Assam

A team of Bhojpur police arrested Tapan Dey, the main accused in the murder case of retired professor couple, from Jonai village under Dhemaji district of Assam on Thursday. The police also recovered stolen jewellery, Rs 8,100 cash out of the Rs 50,000 stolen by the accused, besides two kitchen knives used in the murder and the mobile phones of the professor couple. The police team arrested the accused with the help of CCTV footages.

Retired Prof Mahendra Prasad Singh and his wife Prof Pushpa Singh were found murdered at their apartment situated at Katira locality under Nawada police station of Ara on January 30.
