Sarbananda Sonowal Joins Bihu Celebrations, Emphasizes Cultural Significance

Union Minister and BJP candidate from Dibrugarh, Sarbananda Sonowal, participated in the Bihu celebrations in Tinsukia district, marking the commencement of Rongali Bihu in Assam. Sonowal underscored the cultural importance of Bihu, emphasizing rituals like ‘Gau puja’ and honoring livestock during Goru Bihu, which initiates the week-long festivities. Goru Bihu, observed on the last day of the Assamese calendar month Chot, precedes Bohag Bihu, symbolizing the start of the Assamese New Year.
