Temporary Closure of MG Road for Guwahati-North Guwahati Flyover Construction

The Public Works Department (PWD) has announced the temporary closure of a section of MG Road at Bhoothnath and Machkhowa to accommodate the ongoing construction of a new flyover connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati over the Brahmaputra River. The construction is anticipated to conclude by the end of the month, culminating in a scheduled inauguration. During this period, traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place on specific segments of MG Road, potentially causing congestion. The Guwahati Traffic Police have advised commuters to explore alternative routes to minimize inconvenience during the construction phase.
