The Assam State AIDS Control Society hosts a state-level marathon
On Saturday, the Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS) held a state-level marathon competition called ‘Red Run Assam 2023’ to raise HIV awareness among youth, particularly college students. More than 100 students from various colleges across Assam competed in the competition.
The marathon, which covered a 7-kilometer route from Veterinary Playground in Khanapara to Six Mile in Panjabari and back, was flagged off by noted sportsperson Kushal Lahon and ASACS Project Director Megha Nidhi Dahal, IAS. Speaking on the occasion, Dahal stated that the competition’s goal is to raise HIV awareness among youth and urged participants to avoid high-risk behaviours that could lead to HIV. The competition had three divisions: male, female, and transgender.
