3rd North-East India Buyer-Seller Meet Promotes Regional Trade Opportunities

The 3rd North-East India Buyer-Seller Meet, organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce-North-East Initiative and the Ministry of External Affairs, took place in Guwahati on Thursday. The event focused on fostering trade between Northeast India and South Asian countries, including Bangladesh, Nepal, Laos, Thailand, and Bhutan.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, emphasized the region’s economic ties with neighboring countries and highlighted ongoing projects in areas like hydropower, irrigation, and skill development. The meet, with 60 international buyers and 200 local sellers, featured sectors such as agriculture, handloom, food processing, and tourism, aimed at creating new business partnerships and trade opportunities.

The event provided a platform for regional and international businesses to connect and explore potential collaborations
