Lachit Borphukan’s Birth Anniversary Celebrated with Enthusiasm in Morigaon

The Hindu Jagaran Manch, Morigaon district committee, celebrated the birth anniversary of Ahom commander Lachit Borphukan at Morigaon Stadium on Sunday. Thousands of children dressed as Lachit participated, performing the iconic song “Akou Jadi Jaba Lage Saraighataloi.”

Chief spokesperson Basistha Bujar Barua emphasized self-reliance through agriculture, urging Assamese youth to adopt farming and reduce dependency on others. He highlighted the need for societal unity to achieve a prosperous Assam.

The event also featured cultural performances by students, including Krishna dances, with Morigaon DC Debashis Sarma inaugurating the occasion.
