Gauhati HC Issues Contempt Notices to Assam Agriculture Officials

The Gauhati High Court issued contempt notices to Assam’s Agriculture Commissioner-Secretary and Director following a petition by Amguri Naba Nirman Samity. The petition alleges non-compliance with court directives related to the misappropriation of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PMKSN) funds. In November 2022, the court had ordered action against erring officers, strict adherence to beneficiary guidelines, and proper scheme implementation. The case is scheduled for a hearing in six weeks.
