Sivasagar Cracks Down on Illegal Fishing; Sahitya Sabha Plans Literary Revamp

Sivasagar district fishery officials are conducting raids to curb illegal fishing during the April–July breeding season. Fishing nets were seized in areas like Panidihing and Saraguwa. The use of fine-mesh nets and catching brood fish is banned. Officials also held awareness drives. Meanwhile, the Sivasagar Zila Sahitya Sabha held a meeting to boost Assamese literature, announcing literary events and the release of Sabha Patrika.
