AASU pays homage to Bhupen Hazarika in Guwahati

The AASU (All Assam Students’ Union) paid tributes to Dr Bhupen Hazarika on his death anniversary centrally at Dighali pukhuri in Guwahati today. Units of the AASU paid tributes to the balladeer all over the state.

AASU president Dipanka Kumar Nath, general secretary Sankor Jyoti Baruah and adviser Samujjal Bhattacharjya paid homage to Dr Hazarika at his statute at Dighali pukhuri in the morning.

The AASU leaders also went to the balladeer’s Samadhi Kshetra at Jalukbari and paid him tribute. In the evening, the student union and the general public lit 10,000 flames at the statue of the singer and around the Dighali pukhuri.
