Anti-Corruption Drive Nets CDPO in Assam’s Chirang District

In an ongoing crackdown on corruption, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption apprehended a Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Brajendra Nath Das, in Chirang district, Assam. Das was caught accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from a complainant, leading to his arrest. The CDPO, stationed at Boro Bazar ICDS Project in Bijni, had allegedly demanded Rs. 30,000 from a contractor for releasing construction funds for an Anganwadi Centre house. His arrest underscores efforts to combat corruption within government departments.
